Probably a really obvious one that everyone does already...but just incase you don't...

Tie your hoof pick, with a longish length of baler twine, to your skip bucket handle....you'll always have your hoof pick when you need it and won't accidentally chuck it on the muck heap when you empty the bucket (Done that plenty of times!!!)

I pick the old bats hooves wherever I find them but, I always know where me hoof pick is...........

Great tip though.........if you are dozy LOL

I'm really bad for just picking them out on to the ground and then kicking it out of the way....lol. Then brushing it up later....just makes more work for myself really, but seems easier at the time!! But when I'm doing it properly, I use the skip bucket with hoof pick attached, otherwise I forget that I've chucked the hoof pick into the bucket and then chuck it away!
